Turning GivingInto Lasting Impact.
Since 2017, Educate an Orphan Uganda has been turning small acts of generosity into life-changing opportunities for vulnerable children and communities across Uganda.
Our journey
2017 — 2025
Impact at a glance
Numbers that tell a story
Behind every number is a child, a family, a community and a future made a little brighter.
Students impacted
Children supported through the EAO scholarship journey since 2017.
Current scholars
Orphans currently receiving full scholarship support.
Districts reached
Beneficiaries connected to EAO from across Uganda.
Philanthropists
A growing community inspired to contribute to positive change.
The scholarship journey
Growing with every child.
Our impact is not measured only by the number of children we support, but by how far those children are able to go.
Progressing from one class to another has been accompanied by improved academic performance, with many beneficiaries achieving First Grades in PLE.
A humble beginning
EAO began with a small team of students from the 2017 Executive Committee of Kikoni Muslim Union.
43 philanthropists
By the end of the year, EAO had grown to 43 members, all students at Makerere University Kampala.
3,000+ philanthropists
The movement grew steadily, inspiring thousands of people to participate in giving and community transformation.
Children moving forward
Many of the children who joined EAO in Primary One to Three had progressed to Senior One, Two and Three.
Growing investment
As children grow, our commitment grows too.
Supporting a child through education requires more than simply paying school fees. As beneficiaries progress into higher classes and better schools, our investment in their future has grown significantly.
2017–2018
Maximum annual expenditure per child
2024
Annual investment for some beneficiaries
The increased investment has allowed EAO to support children beyond academics, providing capacity building, mental health empowerment, counselling, guidance, medical support, termly stipends and essential scholastic materials.
Beyond the classroom
More than a scholarship.
Our goal is not simply to keep a child in school. We want to help every beneficiary grow academically, emotionally, socially and personally.
Education
Full scholarship support, school fees, scholastic materials and other essential educational requirements.
21st Century Skills
Capacity-building initiatives that equip beneficiaries with practical skills, values and competencies for the future.
Mental Wellbeing
Mental health empowerment, counselling and guidance to help children develop emotional resilience.
Medical Support
Support towards manageable medical needs when beneficiaries face health-related challenges.
Termly Stipends
Additional financial support that helps beneficiaries meet personal and school-related needs.
Human Development
A holistic approach that seeks to develop children academically, emotionally, socially and personally.
Inspiring philanthropy
Raising a generation that gives.
EAO's impact goes beyond the children we directly support. Our journey has inspired young people, families and communities to realise that small resources can create huge and lasting impact.
A powerful example
Students helping students
At Kibuli Secondary School, two classes have taken up the responsibility of sponsoring an orphan each, contributing towards their school fees and scholastic needs.
Their example reminds us that young people do not need to wait until adulthood to become philanthropists.
“You do not need a lot of resources to make a meaningful difference. You need the willingness to start.”
From approximately 10 students at the beginning of our journey to thousands of philanthropists today, EAO continues to demonstrate the power of collective giving.
Be part of the impact
Start small. Give what you can. Change a life.
Whether you sponsor a child, become an EAO member, volunteer your time or make a donation, your contribution can help create opportunities that last a lifetime.
